The Danish royals have lasted the better part of a year without seeing their direct relatives, but finally, the family have reunited.

In a colourful update shared to Instagram, the royals shared their Easter activities with the world – and the reunion certainly looks as joyous as you’d expect.

In several vibrant snaps shared to Instagram, the family are seen crossing the grounds of their Danish estate together.

Crown Princess Mary is accompanied by her husband Prince Frederik, who stands alongside son Prince Christian, 15, Princess Isabella, 13, and twins Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent, both 10.

And in the centre of the snap stands the formidable Queen Margrethe, who turned 80 in the midst of lockdown.

While the country remains under a few social distancing regulations, it’s lovely to see them united with Frederik’s mother for such a special occassion.

And as the vaccine continues to rollout across the country, here’s hoping it won’t be long until they’re able to get back to their usual, colourful public appearances.
