Zara and Mike Tindall thrilled over Grand National win

British royal family members and horse-lovers Zara Tindall and her husband Mike could barely contain their excitement over their win at the Grand National on the weekend.
Like the Melbourne Cup, the British Grand National is often the race that stops the nation. One of the United Kingdom’s most celebrated races, the Grand National, held at Aintree this year saw the Tindall’s horse, named Monbeg Dude take out a prime place.
Champion equestrian Zara, 33, and her rugby player hubby Mike, 36, looked ecstatic with the place, which earned them a smooth $200,000 (GBP £105K) as the horse came in third. Not bad for a horse that Mike purchased on a whim two years ago.
"I'm lost for words and emotions," Mike later tweeted. "All I can say is yes the dude!!!!!"
Zara and Mike Tindall look shocked and thrilled with their horse's place!
Mike’s extravagant purchase of the horse originally apparently got him in a spot of hot water with his wife as he admitted that he never really thought through the purchase.
"I like to bid in auctions without meaning to actually win things" he explained to the Daily Mail at the time. "I only went for a bite to eat and a night out. No horse had gone for less than £28,000 so I thought my first bid of £10,000 was pretty safe, likewise when I upped it to £12,000.”
"I knew nothing about the horse," he added. "I hadn't checked the brochure and couldn't see the Dude as I was sitting with my back to the sale ring."
Mike also said Zara had called him an “idiot” over the purchase!
Clearly all was forgiven though as both Zara and Mike looked very thrilled indeed with the win and even took a moment to show off a spot of affection on the green with a very public smooch!
Zara looked elegant in a floral-embellished pillbox hat while still rugged up warm against the chilly country air, and Mike couldn’t wipe the grin off his face all day! Congratulations to the lucky couple!
Zara Tindall nee Phillips looked very elegant in a feathered hat and thrilled with hubby Mike's win.
Mike Tindall and his pals appear absolutely over-the-moon to see his horse Monbeg Dude come in third place!
