Weddings generally don’t come cheap, but when it comes to a royal wedding, things go to a whole new level.

With less than a month to go until Princess Eugenie’s big day, it looks like the credit card is doing some serious overtime, with reports estimating the lavish event will cost a whopping AUD $3.6 million.

We’ll just be picking our jaws up from the floor after that bombshell.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding is going to be a lavish affair.

Hamish Shephard, founder of wedding planning app Bridebook.co.uk, crunched the numbers for Daily Mail, analysing over 170,000 weddings and reviewing over 70,000 industry suppliers’ price estimates listed on his wedding venue and supplier directory.

The biggest investments on the day include catering to over 1000 guests and, according to Shephard, a luxury marquee alone could amount to over $150,000.

The highly-anticipated wedding dress is also guaranteed to be extravagant. A couture garment from a fashion house like Stella McCartney – a hot favourite tipped to design Genie’s dress, could cost up to $360,000. Woah.

The wedding is rumoured to have some impressive names on the guest list, including Ellie Goulding.

With reports the wedding will now be a two-day festival complete with dodgems, funfair rides and cocktails, it’s not exactly a surprise to see how the costs could build up.

Other trimmings estimated by Shephard include $180,000 on florals, $30,000 on videography and and up to $270,000 for catering. Oh, and did we mention a $10,000 wedding cake?

The wedding guest list includes some big names including the Beckhams, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. Ellie Goulding and Robbie Williams are also rumoured to sing during the festivities.

Safe to say this wedding is going to be one for the ages!
