While we saw Lady Gabriella Windsor tie the knot this year, there’s one British royal we’re waiting patiently to announce her engagement.

Princess Beatrice went official with her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi earlier this year and one royal insider reckons her royal wedding is just around the corner.

While her younger sister Eugenie celebrated her nuptials in the British autumn, things are set to be a sunnier occasion for Beatrice.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty magazine revealed, “They’re going to get married – I was told by a member of the family.”

“I think a wedding as early as next spring or summer is likely.”

With less than a year to go, we’ll certainly be refreshing our newsfeeds for any news from the Palace!

Unlike her cousins Prince William and Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice’s nuptials won’t be as high-profile and she won’t even have to ask permission from her grandmother the Queen.

In the 1772 Royal Marriages Act, it stated that all marriages to members of the British royal family had to be approved by the monarch. So if a descendent of the king or queen married without consent, that marriage would be considered null and void.

However in 2013, this law was replaced by the Succession to the Crown Act. In it, it declares that only the first six in line to the throne need the monarch’s consent and seeing as Princess Beatrice is number nine, she need not worry.

Despite the fact that Beatrice and Edoardo don’t need the Queen’s formal permission to wed, they may choose to do the same as Eugenie and Jack who was across the latter’s plan to propose.

“Granny actually knew right at the beginning [of the engagement]. We left her this weekend and had a lovely time and she was very happy, as was my grandfather,” the younger daughter of Prince Andrew revealed during her official engagement interview.

“We literally just told out mother and fathers and brothers and sisters and our grandparents,” she added.

Princess Beatrice was last spotted attending Sunday church service with the Queen near Her Majesty’s holiday residence of Balmoral Castle.

Beatrice’s parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson also travelled up to Scotland as did her sister Princess Eugenie, brother-in-law Jack Brooksbank and of course, her beau Edoardo.

Now that he’s met Granny, it’s only a matter of time before they take the next step!
