When it comes to the youngest royals, we couldn’t really find them any cuter than they already are… well, that is until Prince William drops the adorable nickname he has for Princess Charlotte.

Indeed in a new video released by the Cambridge family earlier this week, keen-listening fans heard a sound bite that’s melted hearts across the world, and it’s solely because of one word Prince William said.

As he swung on the now infamous rope swing, which sits in his wife Duchess Catherine’s newly revealed garden design for the Chelsea Flower Show, Prince William was filmed calling to his young daughter.

In the clip, fans have revelled after hearing William say what sounds like: “mignonette”, which, in French is a diminutive of the word ‘cute’.

Too cute!

While it definitely sounds like Wills is saying the adorable nickname, other royal fans have suggested he was simply saying: “Have you been on this yet?”

Boy had she, and indeed it seems the entire royal family had been on the swing – with George also seen in the new royal footage trying his hand at it, as well as Kate who was pictured on the swing in a rare candid snap before revealing the garden in all its glory.

The Cambridge family have been known to use many a nickname for each other in the past.

In fact, in January, Prince George revealed his nickname to be ‘Archie’ to a person he came across while strolling through a park with his grandma Carole Middleton.

Well, either that was his nickname or he was revealing baby Sussex’s new name a little early!

Meanwhile, Prince George has some nicknames for his other royal family members, it has been revealed.

George calls Prince Charles ‘Grandpa Wales’ while he also calls Queen Elizabeth ‘Gan Gan’ – too cute!

And like a game of tag, Prince Charles is also known to partake in the royal nicknaming game.

According the The Mail on Sunday, Charles calls his daughter-in-law Meghan Markle ‘Tungsten’ because she’s “tough and unbending just like the very strong metal.”

Prince William and Duchess Catherine also have their own pet names for each other, including ‘poppet’.

As for Prince Philip, “Cabbage”, “Darling” and “Lilibet” are among the names he uses for Her Majesty herself!

And Prince Charles and Camilla often refer to each other as ‘Fred’ and ‘Gladys’.

Long may the adorable nicknames continue!
