Meghan Markle has reappeared on Instagram, just days after it was announced she and Prince Harry would formally step away from their duties as senior royal family members.

In an unexpected post shared to the social media platform on Wednesday evening, the Duchess was seen in two candid snaps at UK charity Mayhew, which she has been patron of since January 2019.

Going by the pictures, it appears that the Duchess managed to squeeze in the secret visit to their headquarters in London right before she headed to Canada, where she is now staying with Archie and Prince Harry.

In the images, Meghan is seen wearing a chic navy blue coat over a striped shirt.

The coat in question, which looks somewhat similar to her gorgeous blue teddy coat worn during Remembrance Day commemorations back in November, is a new style by Massimo Dutti.

According to blog What Meghan Wore, the beautiful garment is handmade.

The charity’s ethos is entrenched in animal welfare, and aims to help cats and dogs find safe homes.

In the caption of the post, Sussex Royal wrote: “Earlier this month, The Duchess of Sussex popped in to see the amazing people at Mayhew to hear about the incredible progress made throughout the festive period.”

The post continued to say Meghan was a proud patron of the charity, having a “long understanding the connection between animal and community welfare, applauds the people at Mayhew for the vital work that they do every day.”

“From cats and dogs who have found new homes to animal welfare cases handled in the community – @TheMayhew believes in the power of togetherness and the special bond between humans and animals.”

While Meghan is still understood to be working with a number of charities in London, for now it seems the royal will spend some time in Canada with her eight-month-old son Archie, and Prince Harry, who flew from the UK to join them earlier this week.

Numerous reports state the pair are planning to set up a base on Vancouver Island, where they hope to live a more private life.

And the Duchess is already making some charitable connections from her new home in North America.

Last week, she paid a surprise visit to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre in Vancouver, where she casually popped in for tea to discuss issues affecting women in the community.

Later that day, she also visited another social enterprise known as Justice for Girls.

During the empowering engagement, Meghan spoke to the key women behind the campaign, speaking about climate change, the justice system and issues that affect women today.

With this in mind, it seems that while Meghan might be stepping back from her royal duties, she fully intends to continue to work for the greater good.
