On Monday, April 23rd, Duchess Catherine and Prince William took to the stairs of the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London to officially introduce the world to their precious third child.

The appearance was met with no small amount of amazement and awe as mother’s everywhere struggled to comprehend just how pulled together the proud new mum-of-three looked just seven hours after having given birth.

The 36-year-old royal looked absolutely flawless in a red dress with a white collar (reminiscent to the dress Princess Diana wore after giving birth to Prince Harry) by Jenny Packham for the historic moment. Her go-to stylist, Natasha Archer, was presumably behind the ensemble as she was spotted leaving the prestigious hospital just moments before the royal gave birth.

She completed the look with a pair of nude pumps (yep, just hours after birth!), her signature blow-dried tresses and natural makeup.

But there was another sweet element of the ensemble that almost went unnoticed…

Kate’s post-birth look was quickly compared to the ensemble worn by Princess Diana after the birth of Prince Harry.

The beloved royal also chose to wear Queen Elizabeth’s stunning diamond and pearl drop earrings, perhaps as a subtle nod to the new baby’s great grandmother.

On loan from the Queen, the earrings are one of Kate’s favorites. She’s worn them several times previously, including during a 2016 visit to the Mauritshuis gallery in Holland, where she took in the iconic painting, “Girl with a Pearl Earring.”

Sophie, Countess of Wessex has also been pictured wearing the classic combination, most notably while visiting Luxembourg for the wedding of the Hereditary Grand Duke.

Meanwhile, the new royal baby — the real cente of attention — was swaddled in what is thought to be the same beautiful blanket that his big brother and sister, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were wrapped in when they left the Lindo Wing for the first time.

The stunning shawl was made by GH Hurt and Sons in Nottinghamshire.

The beaming new parents!

A lip reader has since revealed to the Mirror what the royal couple said to one another as they lovingly tended to their newborn while the global media watched on.

“Are you OK with him?” the Duke of Cambridge, 35, asked of his wife as she walked down the hospital steps in heels.

“Yes,” she replied with a smile.

They then prompted each other to wave in different directions, before Kate told her beloved husband: “It is a bit windy, he might get cold, let’s go now.”

“Sure,” William replied.

The little prince’s birth was marked by bell ringing at Westminster Abbey, a 41-round gun salute in London’s Hyde Park at 2pm Tuesday local time and a 62-round salute at the Tower of London.

His name is expected to be announced imminently, considering the names of siblings George and Charlotte were announced two days after their births.

A huge congratulations once again to the royal couple on their beautiful baby!
