Ever since Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was welcomed into the world, we always knew he wouldn’t be raised like a typical royal child.

Now it turns out that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s firstborn won’t have a traditional nanny like his Cambridge cousins, with a new report claiming that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are going to opt for someone “non-traditional.”

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’ nanny Maria Borallo is one of the esteemed Norland nannies trained in all manners of childcare and even has her own private residence with the family in Kensington Palace.

But royal historian Victoria Howard told UK paper The Express that she believes Harry and Meghan will opt for a “non-traditional” nanny, possibly recommended by “Hollywood friends”.

“I think they will look for someone who is obviously experienced, but that has more of a rounded attitude towards child rearing,” she revealed.

“I think they will look for things that will make them aware of mental health perhaps, encouraging creativity and for them to be themselves.”

There were even talks that the Sussexes would hire a male and/or American nanny, but Victoria suspects that they will go for a British nanny “just because they are based in Britain.”

Duchess Meghan was never going to be a traditional royal parent.

In fact, makeup artist Daniel Martin (who also did the Duchess of Sussex’s make up for her wedding day) revealed that she’s going to be more hands-on than we realised – by making her own baby food.

“I’m sure the baby’s gonna be raised like, definitely clean and green,” Daniel told CBS’s Gayle King. “Clean and green for the baby. She loves to cook. Eating organic whenever she can.”

“Oh, I totally see her making her own baby food.”

Duchess Meghan is still technically on maternity leave, but soon she’ll be back to her royal duties.

The Duchess of Sussex made her grand return to the global stage at Saturday’s Trooping the Colour festivities dressed in a navy blue dress by her wedding dress designer Clare Waight Keller, along with a matching hat by Noel Stewart.
