Lauren Newton and husband Matt Welsh are celebrating a welcome milestone with their newest addition to the family – and it’s the wholesome, welcome news we needed this hump day.
The 40-year-old daughter of Bert and Patti Newton has been through a testing time after welcoming her sixth child, Alby James Newton Welsh, seven weeks early in August.
In the weeks following, Alby has remained under hospital care as the new parents nervously awaited the all-clear.
Now, taking to her Instagram account this week, Lauren has confirmed that Alby is now in his rightful home – with five older siblings to now dote over him regularly.
Sharing a sweet picture of Alby and his big sister Perla, Lauren wrote: “We are thrilled to have our beautiful boy home. Lots of little helpers wanting to hold Alby.”
She continued: “Thank you to the wonderful Spacial Care Nursery @frances_perry_house and Dr Diana Johnston for looking after him so well. Thank you also to @dr_stephencole you are amazing.”
In the gorgeous picture, Lauren”s youngest child looks peaceful (and adorable to boot) as his big sister gently holds him.
“Aww thank goodness Alby is home. Gorgeous photo,” wrote one in the comments.
“Very proud big sister Perla. I love Alby’s little cardi,” another added.
Lauren and husband Matt had a testing time in the weeks following Alby’s birth when he arrived early.
(Instagram)In late August, Lauren confirmed she herself had been discharged from hospital after a lengthy stint there.
“So wonderful to be home after 80 nights in hospital. Hard to leave Alby but he is in wonderful hands,” she wrote.
In a sweet addition, she also added two beautiful snaps of her children Monty and Perla in an earlier post, writing: “I think they are excited to have me home. Can’t wait to squish them.”
Lauren’s parents Bert and Patti are also quite clearly smitten with all six of their grandchilden.
Patti previously said of her daughter’s sixth pregnancy: “Another beautiful baby to love. So lucky this baby is having No 6. In these sad and difficult times, wonderful to have such joy to look forward to. The best parents,and the most fabulous children, we miss you so much our love Nana and Poppy.”
Bert and Patti Newton are now grandparents to six children.
