She broke onto our screens in her early 20s, landing the role of Martha Stewart on Home And Away, before going on to star on shows like Dancing With The Stars, Neighbours and Underbelly.

And it looks like the showbiz gene has carried over to Jodi’s mini-me daughter Aleeia Anasta, with the proud mum telling us her little girl “loves performing.”

“She’s very strong-willed, she’s very entertaining and funny and loves performing,” Jodi explains in an exclusive interview with Now To Love.

Indeed Jodi simply lights up when talking about Aleeia, who she shares with ex-husband and retired NRL player Braith Anasta.

“She loves dancing and she’s just so energetic and full of life with the biggest heart, she’s just heaven. She’s so beautiful and such a loving little girl,” the actress beams, before revealing her daughter is currently doing musical theatre, dance lessons and acrobat classes.

However don’t expect any stage mum antics from Jodi as the 35-year-old insists she’s not putting any pressure on her daughter to follow in her footsteps and take on a career in front of the camera.

“Some days she wants to be a dancer, some days she wants to be a fashion designer and then the other day, she said she wants to be a scientist. I’m happy for her to explore whatever,” she tells us.

“She’s kind of at that point where she’s trying everything out, she’s doing a lot of acro and dance so we’re just helping her navigate her way through what she likes and what fits well with her and letting her decide those things.”

In January, Jodi wrapped up her role as Elly on Neighbours so she could move back from Melbourne to Sydney and focus on her young daughter.

And it’s a decision she says she hasn’t regretted for one second.

“It was a really good time for me to rest for a minute, re-group, settle back into the Sydney lifestyle and have that time to reconnect with everyone,” she explains.

Now she’s based in the same city as her ex-husband, Jodi says co-parenting their daughter together is all about routine and working as a team.

“Like most co-parenting situations we make it work. We work together to make it work,” she says.

Aleeia is certainly one loved little girl with Jodi revealing of her support network: “She’s constantly around [people], whether it’s my family or my ex-partner’s family, all of our parents as well… She’s got so many grandparents, so many friends.”

With the Logie award-winning actress settled back into Sydney life, it’s given her time to take on a slew of exciting new projects, including teaming up with esmi Skin Minerals as their brand ambassador.

“I’ve been using their stuff religiously and I’ve had really great results,” Jodi explains of the ethical and vegan skincare range.

Sharing exactly how she gets her camera-ready dewy glow, the actress credits their new Probiotic Skin Mylck as a fail-safe, as well as her trusty favourite products.

“I pretty much have the same routine all the time, which is the Uncomplicated Cleanser and then I use their suncream, then the Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum and then the 24K Gold Nourishing Oil,” she says.

And if she wants to go all out and treat her skin to some TLC, Jodi loves to combine the Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum with the Hyaluronic Hydrating Booster Mask overnight to pack the ultimate fresh-faced punch.

“When I use those two, I combined them together at night and take it off in the morning and that in itself makes a huge difference!”

“I think so much about skincare is making sure you keep your skin hydrated. Because you put makeup and makeup can do much but it’s about how much we look after our skin and how hydrated we are and how much attention we pay to our skin. I think that’s where it really starts.”

As good as gold: Jodi’s favourite product from the range is the esmi 24K Gold Nourishing Oil, $65.

Looking back at her beauty regrets from over the years, Jodi confesses her enthusiastic experimentations with eye shadow and packet dye top the list.

“I went through this phase where I loved wearing pink and blue eye shadow to school,” she laughs.

“I remember using a packet dye of burgundy when I was in year six and trying to shake out the really warm tones of my hair. When you’re really young it’s all bout the packet dye mix and that can go really wrong!”

Ahh, you’ve gotta love the disastrous packet dye days. Don’t worry Jodi, we’ve all been there.

Fresh on the scene, Jodi Gordon steps out at the 2006 TV WEEK Logie Awards.
