Constance Hall has hit back at pressure to quickly shed her post-pregnancy weight, after giving birth to her fifth child, a healthy baby boy, via cesarean just a week ago.
The outspoken blogger jumped on social media on Wednesday to share a picture of her post-baby body in a bra and pajama pants, as she cradles her first child with husband Denim Cooke.
“This is my rig,” the 33-year-old wrote about her body.
“For the last 9 months it’s housed the world’s best baby. It’s also been the subject of many photos and shown off in tight dresses and midriffs.”
Constance, who has both been praised and widely criticised for writing about her family life with a no-holds-barred approach, continued her post, praising her body for it’s strength to carry a child.
“The beautiful rig that stretched to its full capacity and then stretched some more, the skin, fat, muscles and organs that kept me and my baby safe, fed, warm and alive,” she wrote.
“This is the rig that my baby falls asleep on and my husband kisses.”
Upon leaving the hospital with her new bub, Constance recreated Duchess Catherine’s Lindo Wing appearance with Prince Louis.
The mum-of-five then detailed the change in people’s comments about a woman’s body after she gives birth.
“The thing is that when the baby comes out comments change from ‘beautiful belly!!’ to ‘don’t worry you’ll lose that,’ she revealed.
“But I f—- love this rig. I’ve worked hard to earn it and I’m proud of it, I’m proud of anything that brought this beautiful baby into the world.”
The blogger’s post was met by an outpouring of comments praising her for saying it like it is, and providing a relatable representation of the first week of motherhood.
“Wish I read this after having Ted instead of looking at all the girls that go back to being tiny in half a second. I wasn’t like that before don’t know why I thought I’d be like it after housing a baby for nine months,” wrote one woman.
“Love this pic. I felt more beautiful after having my bub six weeks ago. I never felt more comfortable in my body and I don’t give a crap what others say my husband smacks my butt and still calls me sexy and that’s all that matters,” commented another.
Constance Hall and her husband Denim Cooke have welcomed their first child together.
Constance and Denim announced the arrival of their little bub — a healthy baby boy — on social media.
“Raja. Born at 2.46pm 38 weeks 4.2kgs. We couldn’t have dreamt a more perfect baby,” Constance wrote alongside a picture of her breastfeeding her newborn.
“Love you so much Denzy. We are blown away with support from you all.”
The name Raja is a Sanskrit baby name. In Sanskrit the meaning of the name Raja is ‘king’.
With the addition of baby Raja, Constance and Denim’s family has grown to include seven children and two dogs.
Denim has two sons Zeyke and Sunny from a previous relationship, while Constance has Rumi, Snow, Arlo Love and daughter Billie-Violet from her previous six-year marriage to Bill Maher.
