In what can only be described as an act of divine intervention, cult 90’s sit com Fresh Prince of Bel Air may be heading back to our TV screens, with former star of the show Will Smith determined to breathe new life into it.
The dad-of-three rose to fame on the sitcom which ran for six seasons from 1990-1996 and quite frankly defined the entire decade!
According to TVLine Will and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s production company Overbrook Entertainment are in the early stages of creating a present day show that puts a modern spin on the classic show.
Talk is circulating that the 46-year-old, won’t be starring in show but will take on the role as executive producer, along with his wife.
The pair will be pitching the idea to numerous network execs in the hopes of it getting picked up.
This wouldn’t be the first time Fresh Prince of Bel Air has been brought back thanks to the power of the people before, in 1994 it was cancelled, but after numerous complaints from fans, the guys at the top decided to bring it back for another two seasons.
We are already dusting off our MC Hammer pants in anticipation!
