In a touching tribute, Miss Taylor has named her newborn daughter Emily Katrina, according to 7News. It’s believed Julie welcomed her child about two weeks ago.

Julie and Katrina were among the 18 hostages who found themselves at the hands of gunman Man Haron Monis at the Lindt Café in Martin Place on December 16. At the time of the terrifying ordeal, Julie was 19 weeks pregnant.

The new mother is expected to give evidence at this week’s coronial inquest, which begins today.

The hearings, which will endeavour to expose the gunman’s motives and background, will take place over the span of two weeks and will have over 100 witnesses take to the stand.

Speaking of her beloved friend and colleague, who passed away after a stray bullet from a police officer hit her, Julie said at the time of her death: “Katrina Dawson was the most wonderful person I have ever met. She was my closest friend, a role model and confidant.”

“Her bravery and strength was, and continues to be, a comfort and inspiration for me.”

Café manager Tori Johnson was tragically executed by the gunman during the horrific ordeal.
