Vacant Logan house searched for murdered schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer

The search is expected to take several days.

Police have been searching a vacant house in Logan, just south Brisbane, that they believe could be linked to the suspected murder of 12-year-old Tiahleigh Palmer.

The schoolgirl was last seen on October 30, 2015, at her school in Logan, and her body was found six days later on November 5 on a Gold Coast riverbank.

Detectives yesterday began search of the Logan property. The house will be subject to dusting, photographing and other elements of the examination, meaning the search will take several days.

Queensland Police said in a statement: “Police can confirm investigators are currently at a Logan Reserve Road address in Waterford in relation to the ongoing homicide investigation of Tiahleigh Palmer.”

A 21-year-old man recently moved out of the home, telling 9News that he’d lived there for seven or eight years with his mother and three brothers.

“Nothing ever happened in this place, since we lived here,” he said. He also said no one in his family knew the young schoolgirl.

Earlier this year, police put out a $250,000 reward for any information leading to the conviction of the killer, believing people may previously have been too afraid to come forward.

Detective Superintendent David Hutchinson said on March 15: “We do have a number of positive lines of inquiry that we’re following.”
