Target’s “OCD” Christmas sweater spurs social media backlash

People have said the retailer is poking fun at OCD

Target is being accused online of being insensitive towards those with mental illness because it’s selling a sweater bearing the phrase “Obsessive Christmas Disorder.”

The shirts were released as a part of the American Target’s holiday sweater collection in store and online.

Shoppers have said the sweater is poking fun at OCD, a serious mental illness and have called for the retailer to remove it.

However, Target has no plans to remove them from shelves with a spokesperson saying, “We never want to disappoint any of our guest and apologise for any discomfort.”
