Disturbing footage has emerged of a street fight between Sydney school girls.
The group of high school girls are seen wielding meat cleavers, carving knives and baseball bats before jumping each other in a violent brawl on Sydney streets.
The fight, which was recorded on a smart phone, played out in front of a cheering crowd of onlookers, egging on the girls who are seen ripping out hair and kicking each other.
A NSW Police media release revealed that a 17-year-old has been charged with a number of offences after officers were called to the street at around 5pm on Wednesday.
The teenager was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where she was charged with affray, assaulting police and resisting arrest.
She was given conditional bail and will appear before the children’s court on February 29.
Early inquiries from police revealed that up to five people were involved in fights, with 30 to 40 further people watching.
The shocking footage has sparked outrage among the community with many calling for change.
One parent told The Weekly students need to be taught how to say no to fist fights.
“We must teach conflict resolution with the same gusto we teach maths and english. This cannot continue.”
