It seems like it’s one thing after another when it comes to Nick Kyrgios.

This time, the controversial Aussie tennis star has been taken down from his high schools hall of fame – he’s been placed on detention!

The Guardian reports that the photograph of the world No30 sat alongside Socceroos and Celtic star Tom Rogic, Hockeyroos defender Anna Flanagan and NSW Cricketer Ryan Carters.

“He’s had a temporary departure from the hall [of fame]; he’s actually on detention in the director of sport’s office at the moment and we’re keeping him there until his behaviour improves – which we’re very confident that will happen given that he was a Radford student,” Radford principal Fiona Godfrey told Fairfax Media.

“I was speaking to the director of sport who said he can remember him vividly. He was a lovely bloke at school and he also vividly remembers him playing a large tennis competition involving staff and funnily enough he won it.”

“He only has to string together a few good tournaments and we’ll be happy to put him back up there.”

“All good sportspeople are an influence and particularly being from Canberra the kids all follow him quite closely and we want them to have good role models,” she said.”

In August of this year, Kyrgios was caught sledging Stan Wawrinka during a Rogers Cup match, telling the Swiss: “Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend. Sorry to tell you mate.”

He’s now serving a six-month suspended sentence and will be banned for four weeks should he accrue fines totalling $5,000 before 24 February.
