McDonalds introduces all-day breakfast across Australia

In another bid to save the fast-food brand McDonald's Australia has introduced an all-day, all-night breakfast menu.

If you’ve ever found yourself craving some Hotcakes or an Egg McMuffin at 3pm, you’ll understand the joy we felt when we discovered that, after a lifetime of being denied breakfast-y deliciousness past 10.30, McDonalds has finally fulfilled our all-day breakfast wishes.

As of today, McDonald’s Australia will officially begin serving a new 24/7 breakfast menu, available at some fast-food restaurants around the nation.

The introduction of this game-changer will kick off today in cities across NSW, and will be later followed by other stores right around the country in the next couple of months.

“Macca’s restaurants across Wollongong and the Illawarra (excluding food court kiosks) will be serving breakfast favourites including the Bacon and Egg and Sausage and Egg Mcmuffins, Hashbrowns and Hotcakes 24 hours, seven days a week,” McDonalds revealed in their statement.

Critics say this is yet another bid by the fast food giant to try and improve flailing sales.

It comes after launching a build your own burger, which many employees have spoken out against.

“The build your own burger is just a stunt that is putting more pressure on our teams,” one employee told The Weekly.

“I can almost guarantee they will make us roll it out in drive-through where we are already facing crippling deadlines on delivery time,” said the employee who refused to be named.

At home and overseas McDonalds is beginning to lose it’s stronghold of the fast-food market.

In the US, McDonalds is attempting to boost sales by introducing a lobster roll – aptly named McLobster.

The McLobster.

Back home, Australia’s chief marketing officer of the fast food chain, Mark Lollback, declared that due to the astounding amount of inquiries from consumers, McDonalds was forced to make a change.

Lollback also said, “We are always listening and taking on feedback from our customers and all-day breakfast was one that people are always asking of us. We are excited to let our customers know that we have heard them and to announce that our Wollongong patrons will have the opportunity to be among the first in Australia to enjoy all-day breakfast.”
