Facing charges of perjury and perverting the course of justice Julene Thorburn, 54, and her son Josh Thorburn, 20 will make their first appearances in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday, reports SBS.

Both have been out on bail since charges were laid against them in September.

They are the forth members of the Thorburn family to face court over the death of Logan schoolgirl.

Julene’s husband Rick, 56, has been charged with murder and their 19-year-old son, Trent, 19, is being held in custody on charges of incest.

According to reports the state of Queensland has recruited 82 more child safety officers to deal with urgent “alleged reports of child abuse and neglect” in the wake of the schoolgirl’s death.
