Coroner to reopen Daniel Morcombe inquest

The Queensland coroner's office is expected to recommence the inquest into the abduction and death of the Sunshine Coast schoolboy.

The Queensland coroner’s office is expected to recommence the inquest into the abduction and death of Sunshine Coast schoolboy Daniel Morcombe for two days in December.

According to AAP the Morcombe family’s long-serving lawyer, Peter Boyce reportedly told ABC radio that Daniel’s parent’s, Denise and Bruce would like the some aspects of the police investigation looked at by the coroner.

The inquest was started in October 2010 but remains open following the arrest and trial of Daniel’s killer, Brett Peter Cowan who is serving a life sentence for the crime.

Daniel Morcombe disappeared from a bus stop in December 2003 and his remains were found eight years later following a lengthy police investigation.
