NRL star Bryce Cartwright the target of nasty ‘revenge porn’ campaign

The “jilted” ex-girlfriend of NRL player Bryce Cartwright is accused of targeting the footballer with a bitter revenge porn attack on social media.

The “jilted” ex-girlfriend of NRL player Bryce Cartwright is accused of targeting the footballer with a bitter revenge porn attack on social media.

Brittany Hura, who is said to have dated Cartwright for six years, has been allegedly posting nude photos of her ex and copies of explicit text messages online for the past few weeks in a bid to mock and seemingly threaten the 22-year-old, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Hura reportedly posted photos of the Panther’s player naked and in one post complained that he “can’t pleasure a girl”. On December 8 she also is said to have posted a menacing picture which showed her ‘Bryce’ tattoo with a freshly inked ‘R.I.P.’ underneath.

The woman’s accounts were apparently suspended but on Sunday a video was posted online where Hura is alleged to have made threats about harming Cartwright.

According to a The Daily Telegraph transcript of the video posted on the account of Brinneyy Hura, the woman reportedly said:

“You think I’m laughing because I’m mentally f … ed up? … I’m not mentally f … ed up I’m just laughing at you … you’re going to be dead soon… In the grave … six feet under … you don’t even know what’s coming at you.”

The NRL have decided not to get involved in the situation and the Panther’s CEO has called the situation “a personal matter”.

Former Panther’s star Ryan Girdler has warned young athletes this is another reminder to be aware of who they getting involved with.

“If you’re in the public domain, you’re sort of public property in a sense and if you’re in a long-term relationship and you think you’re possibly never going to break-up, you just need to be careful with what you do,” said Girdler, on the Triple M Summer Grill.

“You need to be careful with social media and Facebook and what you do in your private time.”

Cartwright’s manager Allan Gainey from Pinnacle Sports Management told the Telegraph Hura was “very troubled”.

“This is nothing more than a jilted lover,” he said.

Presently in Australia only Victoria and South Australia have laws banning the sharing of compromising or intimate images and videos without consent. NSW is considering doing the same to punish perpetrators of revenge porn.
