Love was in the air over the Easter weekend, with The Wiggles’ Lachlan Gillespie announcing his engagement to ballet dancer girlfriend Dana Stephenson.
“On Thursday night, Dana asked me to marry her at home under a fairy light sky and a very excited little boy in a beautiful bow tie,” Lachy wrote on Instagram on Monday April 13th.
Alongside the caption was a photo of himself, Dana and her four-year-old son Jasper in a bedroom decorated with fairy lights.
Lachlan was previously married to his Wiggles bandmate, Emma Watkins. Despite the former couple divorcing in August 2018, it appears there is no bad blood between the pair and Emma showed her support for the engagement by commenting on the post with three hearts.
The Wiggles’ official Instagram account also congratulated the couple, writing: “We could all do with some happy news at the moment and it doesn’t get much happier than this… Congratulations to Lachy who just got engaged! The entire Wiggles team is sending love, happiness and congrats to Lachy & Dana (and the dapper, Jasper).”

(Image: Instagram)Over on her own Instagram account, Dana also shared news of the engagement, revealing it was actually Lachy who proposed to her first and she later popped the question to him.
“At the end of our summer holidays, I walked into the most beautiful surprise – a room filled with the most incredible flowers and Lachy singing at his piano and then asking me to marry him,” she explained.
“It was such a surprise and so special. Our faces say it all. It was something very meaningful for us to both have the opportunity to propose to one another, each in our own way.
“Last week, with the most beautiful (and excited!) little boy by my side in a special bow tie, it was our time to ask Lachy our special question – and it was so, so wonderful.”

In a romantic twist, Lachy first proposed to Dana and she later returned the favour.

“He’s just amazing and I just love him so much,” Dana gushed to The Daily Telegraph at the time.
“Lachy and I just had a really beautiful connection straight away. It was between us, but after the fact quite a few people noticed,” she said.
Meanwhile, Yellow Wiggle Emma has also followed ex-husband Lachy’s lead by dating a costar, recently going public with her new man Oliver Brian, who plays the guitar and banjo for The Wiggles.
