Nurses sneak dog in for dying man’s beautiful goodbye

Oh gosh... can someone please pass the tissues?

A dog is man’s best friend until the very end.

And one ailing grandfather found that out in the most beautiful way just before he passed.

Ellie Miguel said her beloved grandpa David King had been fighting cancer for a couple of years, but unfortunately, it was a losing battle. When his health situation took a turn for the worse, the family feared that he would die without saying a final farewell to his dog Lil Fee.

“My grandpa loved his dog, Lil Fee,” Miguel said. “She would follow him around everywhere. He would bring her everywhere he could. My grandpa had been battling cancer for the past couple of years, but last week it took over his whole body.”

Miguel’s grandmother brought in photos of Lil Fee to help comfort him, but the family knew in their hearts that an in-person visit would be so much more meaningful. Little did they know that the nurses were about to bend the rules to help make that visit a reality.

“The nurses always heard my grandma talking about Lil Fee. So they encouraged her and helped her get the dog in,” Miguel said. “They had my aunt carry the dog in a really big purse. For the first time that day, he moved his arm in attempts to pet his Lil Fee. It was a moment I’ll never forget.”

Sadly, her grandpa did pass away last week, but not before he finally got his long-awaited reunion with his furry best friend. And judging by the photos, we’re sure his heart was full of love.
