George and Amal Clooney adopt a rescue dog!

The pitter patter of little paws is echoing through the Clooneys’ Los Angeles mansion.

Just weeks ago, Millie the Basset Hound was a starving stray – and now she’s found her forever home with one of the world’s most famous men.

“It was a happy day at the shelter for Millie!,” the San Gabriel Humane Society shared on its website yesterday.

“She is a four-year-old Basset Hound mix with gorgeous looks that would land her on any Hush Puppies commercial.”

George and Amal, who married in 2014, are building a fur family together.

Something tells us that Millie, who was found begging for scraps outside a restaurant, won’t need to work – or model – a day in her life now that she’s become a Clooney.

“Today her luck changed for the better,” declares the society.

George and and his human-rights lawyer wife had been on the hunt for a Basset Hound to call their own, scouring pet websites for their very own pooch.

When they heard about Millie, they brought their Cocker Spaniel, Louie, along for a meet and greet – and it appears they played happy families straight away.

Little Louie joined his mum and dad in New York recently.

“Millie and Louie hit it off and the new family headed home together,” reveals the website’s touching story. “We hope Millie will stay in touch and send photos.”

Meanwhile, Woman’s Day understands that the couple is also trying for a human baby, and recently visited a fertility specialist.

“This is something they really want,” a source tells Us Weekly. “Amal isn’t taking on any extra work at the moment. They decided that it would be the right time.”

Congrats on the new addition, George and Amal!
