If South Australian couple Tim and Anastasia win The Block Triple Threat, they face a legal battle to secure the prize after producers caused outrage by loaning them $19,000 to complete their apartment and stay in the game.
“Of course, the other contestants are looking at their options,” confirms one insider, who says Dee and Daz, Josho and Charlotte and Ayden and Jess were stunned to find out their rivals were given such a huge advantage.
The extraordinary move came after Tim and Anastasia stormed off the set last week when rival renovator Darren investigated allegations they had not paid their tradies.
Host Scott Cam revealed the controversial couple had just $1500 left in their bank account, with loads of work left to be completed on their apartment just days before the auction.
“They’re obviously cheating,” insists a frustrated Daz, who regularly clashes with the couple and threatened to sue The Block after he and Dee pocketed just $10,000 on the show last year.
“Tim and Anastasia were silly enough to spend all their money weeks ago, so I’m not sure why they are now being given a leg-up to help them over the line. It’s a competition and there’s a lot of money at stake.”
