Reporter Angela Cox was reporting from San Francisco, where Sunrise anchors Samantha Armytage and Andrew O’Keefe crossed to her for an interview with Aussie footballer Jarryd Hayne, who was making first press appearance since joining the San Francisco 49ers team.
Unfortunately the dangers of doing a live cross to a locker room where footballers like to get changed quickly became apparent after one player stripped down and made an accidental a bare-bottomed cameo in the background.
When host Sam spotted the nude bum she couldn’t help but end up in a fit of giggled.
“We got a little bit more than we bargained for!” Angela later said.
So was it an intentional gaffe to boost ratings with a spot of incidental nudity? If so, the embarrassed reporter strongly denies it.
“Another player was standing completely naked in the background for the entire interview. I have to be honest — I didn’t notice until we watched the interview back … I swear,” Angela defended.
“I need to pay more attention when I’m in the locker room, clearly.”
