It’s been a tough week for Pink who had to cancel three Sydney shows from her Beautiful Trauma world tour due to illness.

But the singer has shared a health update on Instagram thanking her fans for their support and the medical team at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney for helping her recovery.

Captioning a sunny snap of the Sydney Opera House, Pink said, “On Monday, we were absolutely planning on going ahead with the show, and about 20 minutes before I left for soundcheck, I was rushed to the hospital, in excruciating pain. That was the reason for the late cancellation. It was out of anyone’s control, and of course, wasn’t planned that way.”

The Grammy Award winner was discharged from hospital on Tuesday night and is currently resting and upping her liquid intake to be in the best shape for her rescheduled shows.

“A lot of you know how physical my shows are, and that I don’t just stand in front a microphone and sing. I flip, dance, fly, harness, silk, and scream my way through a total shit show of awesomeness (no pun intended). Therefore, I need to be physically healthy and well in order to perform this show. I think all of you deserve the full show and me at my best.”

“Our next show will be Saturday, and until then I will be drinking green tea, and spending time with my kids.”

PINK

The singer has been battling a gastric virus.

Until now, the singer has remained relatively quiet and her promotor Live Nation has been giving health updates, but Pink subtly responded to the backlash due to her sudden cancellations via social media.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Pink liked a tweet by Adelaide radio host Melanie Usher, from Monday.

“Geez – don’t fall sick on a concert tour of Oz. First we love [Pink] then we turn on her for cancelling two shows due to illness.”

“A performer is not a robot and they fall sick too. Give her a break and stop complaining about two concerts which ARE going to be rescheduled.”

Pink cancelled her first show on Friday on doctor’s orders, just a day after her husband, Carey Hart, flew back to the United States. The singer was then admitted to Sydney’s St. Vincent’s Hospital on Sunday night suffering from dehydration, but was treated and discharged. She was then readmitted on Monday and diagnosed with a gastric virus and spent the night in hospital.

In her Instagram post, Pink also had a message for the paparazzi.

“You might actually see me walking upright outside of my hotel room cage with two little children, and another warning: I might even smile. Not too much, though. I’ll try to control the smiling.

This comment was most likely in response to a local publication who ran photos of the star at on the beach at Byron Bay with her family on the day she cancelled a concert. The 38 year-old posted the above photo to Instagram.

“You can think whatever you want, it’s your right, but I have never taken advantage of any one in my entire life. I have never f—-d off while disrespecting hard working people who spend money to come see me play. I have never phoned in a single tour, I have an impeccable record for not cancelling,” Pink captioned the post.

“I mother with everything I have whilst handling all the rest. The snark in this is unbelievable and makes me long for a nicer world. I’m doing the absolute best I can, and you can believe it or not. As I said, I’m sorry to the real fans who this situation has affected. Onwards and upwards.”
