Concern is mounting for much-loved Aussie star Grant Denyer after the Celebrity Name Game host took to Instagram last week to reveal he is bedridden once more.

“Me and [wife] Chezzi have both been crook as dogs,” Grant told fans before explaining he was a suffering a cryptosporidium infection of the bowel as a result of a parasite.

It didn’t take long before the father-of-two was showered with well wishes. “You have not had a good year, get better soon,” wrote one fan, joining others who fear the star needs to take time to look after himself and his family.

It follows a challenging 2019 that has seen the Denyers rushing to the emergency ward on several occasions. In March, Chezzi, 39, and the couple’s daughters Sailor, eight, and Scout, three, were left fearing for Grant after he suffered a ruptured disc in an accident on their Bathurst property.

Shortly after, Chezzi broke down on Grant’s 2DAYFM radio show. “She [Sailor] said – because she’s been having nightmares – ‘I just want Daddy to come home… I’m really worried he is going to end up in a wheelchair,'” revealed Chezzi, struggling to keep it together.

And it’s not just Grant, 41, who has been rushed to the ER. Shortly after the star’s farming accident, Sailor suffered from a broken wrist. And just last week, as both Grant and Chezzi battled their own illnesses, Scout was in hospital to have her tonsils removed.

Last year, Grant talked about his battle with depression and addiction to prescription medication following a truck accident in 2008, a moment he insisted felt like rock bottom.
