Nicole Kidman is known for her incredible red carpet style, but the Aussie Oscar winner isn’t one to hold back when it comes to being frank about the realities of looking glamorous.

In a revealing new essay written for Harper’s BAZAAR, the 52-year-old has come clean on some of her biggest highlights in showbiz, and one of those moments involved an iconic dress.

At the 2018 Oscars, Nicole’s heavenly blue Armani Privé gown was a guaranteed head-turner from the get-go.

The dress consisted of a structured corset featuring a giant bow, which splayed out at the waist.

With a daring thigh high split and paired with some Christian Louboutin shoes, the blonde bombshell’s entire look was positively dripping in high fashion.

Seriously, how good does she look?!

But there was another, unexpected reality to the dreamy dress, Nicole reveals.

“They really take care of the details, like how to make a giant bow sit. Because remember, you have to be able to sit in the dress for four hours!” She penned in the essay.

And surprisingly, despite the stiff boning on the corset top and giant bow, Nicole found the dress “unbelievably comfortable”.

Looking at the structured gown up close, we have to applaud Nicole for the grace and ease with which she wore it.

The blonde actress further detailed the dress preparation process ahead of the Oscars, describing how it was fitted on her at her home in Nashville before she flew to LA for the big event.

“It took only two fittings because the team knows my body so well,” she said.

She also put her love of the process down to a sweet childhood memory.

“Doing a fitting reminds me a bit of being a little girl in Sydney. My mother would sew all of my dresses, and she would stand me up on the table or on a chair to make sure the hem was just so.”

So sweet!

It was a very special day for the Oscar winner.

Nicole ended the essay by revealing that she rarely goes out after the Oscars, preferring to go home and see her two young daughters Sunday, 10 and Faith, eight.

“I take everything off, and I fold the dress and am very protective of it because obviously it’s art,” she said.

Upon going to bed, Nicole described the surreal feeling that overcomes her.

“I wonder, ‘Was that a dream?’ For the little girl who used to scour flea markets with her mother, the joy of having access to this kind of beauty will never fade for me.”
