Younger has been renewed for a sixth season by U.S. network TV Land.

The news was announced at the Season 5 premiere party for the show in Brooklyn, New York City, on Monday night. The new series is due to air on Stan. in Australia on Wednesday 6th of June, same day as the U.S.

TV Land president Kevin Kay announced the exciting renewal at the premiere party, alongside Keith Cox, President of Development and Production at TV Land, CMT and Paramount Network.

“Younger exemplifies romantic comedy at its best and each season the show hits new creative and ratings heights,” says Kevin, per Deadline. “We are honored to continue to work with the brilliant Darren Star and this amazing cast, led by the multi-talented Sutton Foster. The new season is outstanding and we are thrilled for what’s to come for these beloved characters.”

We can’t wait to see what happens next!

Younger follows Liza (Sutton Foster), a 40-year-old woman who lies about her age to get a job in publishing.

The show boasts an incredible cast with Sutton co-starring alongside Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, Peter Hermann, Molly Bernard and Charles Michael Davis.

Younger was created by Sex and The City’s Darren Star, and is based on the 2005 novel of the same name by Pamela Redmond Satran.

Much like Sex and the City, the series is set in New York City and features incredible fashion, courtesy of the same costume designer, Patricia Field.

Other similarities between Younger and SATC include: a leading lady who works in publishing (albeit, not writing a sexy newspaper column) and a love triangle between the leading lady, one suave-suited businessman and one rugged hipster (Liza, Charles & Josh, and Carrie, Mr. Big & Aidan).

We knew there was something familiar about our obsession with the show!

Season 5 of Younger will premiere June 6th exclusively on Stan. with new episodes every Wednesday, same day as the U.S.
