The 2021 TV WEEK Logie Awards have regrettably been cancelled, with Are Media confirming the news today.

Though the team are “disappointed” to have to cancel the event, it was a necessary decision due to ongoing COVID-19 lockdowns and border restrictions.

“We are disappointed to have to cancel this year’s TV WEEK Logie Awards, after charging ahead with plans to return for a bigger than ever event on the Gold Coast this November,” Group Publisher Fiona Connolly says.

The awards were due to take place at The Star Gold Coast in Queensland on Sunday, 28th of November, following a postponement of the awards in 2020 due to the pandemic.

“Unfortunately, our current COVID cases and travel restrictions leave us no choice,” continues Connolly.

“But we will return to Queensland mid-2022 and promise the TV WEEK Logie Awards will bring an overdue and deserved night of glamour, celebration and recognition of Australia’s outstanding television industry.”
