The Bachelor no more, Matty found love in a hopeless place with 2017’s winner Laura Byrne.
Ironically, in the real world Laura is neighbours with her beau and it only took 16 episodes, 22 girls and Australia’s entire rose farm to find ever-lasting love.
Sadly for everyone’s favourite Hockeyroo, Elise Stacy didn’t get the man of her dreams.

Matty whisked his girl to Thailand.
The 30-year-old Perth beauty was on cloud nine.
Little did Elise know, this would be her final rose from MJ.
Sharing your boyfriend with 22 other girls can be difficult.
But Matty and Elise sure did have chemistry.
Elise tells us that it was his gaze that she was first attracted to.
“He stares into your eyes like he’s staring through you.”

Matty took up every opportunity he could to get to know the former athlete.

If anything, Matty was concerned they were too similar.

Who could forget their date with James Blunt.
“It was quite awkward because I was singing a song which was saying don’t give me those eyes because this thing is over, this relationship is over. Done. Finito,” James admitted.
