Try to watch the latest Outlander teaser trailer without crying

Och aye, Jamie and Claire are back on our screens!
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe

The first teaser trailer for season three of Outlander has arrived and it’s everything we ever wanted and more.

The clip reveals glimpses of Jamie (Sam Heughan) dealing with the aftermath of the battle of Culloden, while Claire (Caitriona Balfe) has returned to 1948 and is raising her daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) with her first husband Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies). Check out the trailer below.

Those who have read Diana Gabaldon’s novels will know that Jamie and Claire’s love story follows a rocky road to say the least.

The third instalment of the series based on the novel Voyager, will see the star-crossed lovers tested to their very limits.

Australian actor David Berry will also be joining the cast this season. The A Place To Call Home star will play Lord John Grey, the Governor of Ardsmuir Prison – where Jamie spends some quality time this season.

“Filming has been wonderful,” David, 33, tells TV WEEK. “The cast and crew are better than I could have imagined and the people of Scotland and the Outlander fans have been extremely welcoming.”

Production and filming for season three is currently underway in Cape Town. The will consist of 13 episodes and is set to premiere in September this year.

“While ‘Droughtlander’ will last just a little longer, we feel it is important to allow the production the time and number of episodes needed to tell the story of the Voyager book in its entirety,” said Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming at Starz.

“The scale of this book is immense, and we owe the fans the very best show. Returning in September will make that possible,” he added.

If you need more Outlander in your life ASAP, seasons one and two are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
