Frank Sinatra’s eldest daughter, Nancy, has spoken out about the fact that Donald Trump plans to have her father’s legendary song My Way performed at his inauguration.

Like many celebrities the star, who is best known for her own musical portfolio including tracks Bang Bang and These Boots Are Made For Walkin’, took to Twitter to voice her opinion.

But rather than getting angry or spewing a politically-fuelled rant, Nancy simply responded to a fan tweet asking if she was “good” with Trump using her father’s iconic song with this:

In case it’s slipped your mind, My Way opens with the line, “And now, the end is near.”

Nancy has since tweeted to clarify that she was just joking rather than announcing her disapproval, but did voice concerns over Trump’s treatment of ethnic minorities.

Singer-songwriter Paul Anka originally adapted the song for Sinatra back in 1967 and revealed to TMZ that his “old friend” Trump wanted him to perform it at the inauguration because it’s his favourite song. Although it was set to be “the moment of the night”, Anka had to decline due to an ongoing custody battle over his son Ethan.

Hollywood stars like Celine Dion, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and many others openly declined to perform at tonight’s inauguration out of disapproval for Trump, but Anka said he would have done it if he could out of “respect for the office”.

Donald Trump, daughter Ivanka and the rest of the family are currently in Washington D.C. ahead of the concert.
