Celebrity chef by day and hero dad come holidays? My Kitchen Rules judge Colin Fassnidge has given a little insight into his family shenanigans while telling the story of how a simple kayaking trip resulted in ten stitches.
While his wife, Jane, may believe he made “a mountain out of a molehill,” the new Better Homes and Gardens presenter was adamant he “saved” his daughter while on a family holiday in Thailand.
Colin is currently on holiday in Thailand with his family.
(Image: Instagram)“Today we were on a kayak, myself and my daughter, and we both fell off and I couldn’t get back in, so I decided to push my daughter to shore to save her, because we were miles out,” he said.
To which his wife could be heard in the background of the video, yelling “shut up!”
“I’m telling the real story!” he urged. “As I pushed my daughter in, as I was saving her life because we were so far away…”

(Image: Instagram)“The water was knee-high,” Jane snapped back. “He couldn’t get back in the kayak, he was like a baby elephant!”
“It was shallow!” his daughter also yelled.
As a result of Colin’s very heroic endeavours, he “grazed’ his knee on an oyster rock which split open and required ten stitches, to which he added “even the guy at the desk vomited.”
Colin then took himself to hospital, claiming: “I got no love from any female in my house, I had to get a taxi on my own, basically patched myself up, and that’s today’s news from Thailand.”
To the annoyance of his wife and daughter, Colin admitted he was in “severe pain” but he at least “saved [his] daughter in the end.”
However, this hilariously wasn’t the final word as his daughter quipped: “You didn’t help me.”
The Fassnidge family shenanigans left fans in stiches, including MKR co-star Manu Fieidel who commented: “😂😂😂😂😂😂”
