When the world was met with the unexpected news that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth had split after less than a year of marriage, it would be safe to say many, many hearts collectively broke.
Since the shock announcement, media has been rife with reports covering the various movements of both celebrities.
But it seems Liam has decided to forgo beating around the bush and has addressed the reports head first.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday afternoon, the Aussie actor shared an image of a sunset along with a caption that addressed the separation that’s shocked the world.
He began: “Hi all, Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated”.
The actor then shared an unexpected message for his wife, stating: “I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.”
Liam has delivered an unexpected statement which includes a message for his wife Miley.
(Getty)The post continued: “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets.”
Liam added: “Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”
Liam’s post follows comments he reportedly told the Daily Mail yesterday.
After being approached by a reporter, the publication states he said: “You don’t understand what it’s like,” before adding, “I don’t want to talk about it, mate.”
Meanwhile, Miley has also cryptically addressed the split via Instagram, sharing a series of images of herself standing amongst mountainside scenery writing: “Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win.”
“Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed.
“My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time’…. it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true.”
Miley herself seemingly addressed the split on her own Instagram page.

They continued: “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”
The news came after Miley was photographed sharing a kiss with MTV star Kaitlynn Carter, who is has just separated from her Hills co-star and husband Brody Jenner.

According to new reports from TMZ, Miley and Liam split around June.
A source told the publication: “He didn’t come close to meeting her half way.”
The pair were married December 2018 after an on-again-off-again relationship, which began in 2010.
Miley and Liam’s breakup has left the world in shock.
