The channel Seven personality revealed the exciting news to The Daily Telegraph.
“It was the last thing that we expected. It was completely unplanned but we are absolutely thrilled.” She told Confidential.
Monique is already mum to her two kids Pascale, two, and Ettienne, five, with partner Tim Scanlan.
The parents are overjoyed at expanding their brood, with the pregnancy being a complete surprise.
Holding on that feeling, Monique and Tim won’t be finding out the sex of their child until birth.
The Sunrise host feels the happy news should give hope to other women trying to conceive in their forties.
“I do hope that this serves as a bit of hope that it can happen,” she said of the struggle many women face in falling pregnant later.
“It can happen by chance. It is not all doom and gloom. Even though, yes, we understand the statistics, they’re not everything. If anyone is trying, maybe they can take some hope from this.”
