The 67-year-old actress was joined by Jane Fonda and Beau Bridges for the ceremony. It was the 2524th star to appear on the Walk of Fame.
Field won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Norma Rae in 1979 and again for Places in the Heart in 1984. She has also won three Emmy Awards.
The actress, who began her career as a 17-year-old, has starred in films including, Forrest Gump, Steel Magnolias and Mrs. Doubtfire.
