Holy heavens on a Monday morning.
Spring has sprung, the sun is shining and Reese Witherspoon has proven once again that she is Hollywood’s kindest southern belle.
The human embodiment of sweet tea is the proud mother of three children, and over the weekend her eldest daughter rung in a solid milestone.
The starlet’s eldest Ava Phillippe, who she shares with ex-husband *Ryan Phillippe**, celebrated her 18th birthday, and of course the mama bear has been planning for the occasion for about 18 years…
Give or take a few weeks.
Reese has described her daughter as a “a wonderful socially conscious girl!”
Ava (R) is a spitting image of her mum (L).
The teenager took to Instagram to share the incredible gesture her mum had given her.
“18 letters that made me cry (hard) today, courtesy of my lovely mother,” the birthday girl penned ,alongside a photo of stacked envelopes neatly tied up with a pale pink ribbon.
Because 18 handwritten letters, penned on every birthday, to your child isn’t enough (according Reese), the mum-of-three also shared two heart-melting tributes to the girl of the moment.
“Happy 18th Birthday to my sweet girl @avaphillippe,” she wrote next to a flashback snap of the pair.
“Your kindness, grace, intelligence and humor never cease to amaze me. I love you and your HUGE ❤️ and I feel so lucky that I get to be your mom. #proudmom #18.”
She followed that with a recent photo of Ava, simply adding the hashtag “#18”.
While Reese certainly takes the cake for being the most thoughtful/organised/clever mum of all time, Ava’s dad definitely proved that he too knows how to do a heartfelt birthday message.

Kicking off his tribute with an eight-slide post, Ryan began, “Happy birthday, punk. I love you more than any strangers need read, but…”
Adding another photo he mused, “You are the coolest.”
“Smartest,” next to a photo of Ava.
“Most beautiful daughter a father could ever have.”
Before ending the 12 photo message with, “and even though you’re no longer a child, you’ll always be my little girl.”
“Happy 18th, princess.”
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipee were married between 1999 to 2007.
The couple, who famously acted opposite each other in Cruel Intentions, share their two kids Ava and 13-year-old son Deacon.
Reese has since remarried businessman Jim Toth and the pair share a four-year-old son Tennessee.
Ryan shares a six-year-old daughter Kai Knapp with 28-year-old actress Alexis Knapp.
Lats December we saw Reese and her husband Jim Toth with Ava, Deacon and little Tennessee at the premiere of Sing.
