Nicole Kidman already has four children – two daughters, Sunday Rose, 11, and Faith Margaret, 8, with husband Keith Urban, as well as her adopted kids Connor and Bella Cruise with ex-husband Tom, but she has just added another new family member to her growing brood.
The Big Little Lies star took to Instagram on Thursday morning to share the happy news with her 4.7 million followers and posted a gorgeous photo of her new addition.
The 52-year-old might be one of the most successful actors in Hollywood, but that doesn’t mean she’s got everything she wants.
And it seems she has had to wait until now to hit a particular life milestone – getting a dog!
Nicole is clearly besotted with her beautiful new pet and posted this gorgeous photo of the pair on Instagram with the caption: “My first puppy… actually my first dog. Been waiting my whole life for this!”

The puppy is the perfect addition to the Kidman-Urban clan, following a few big milestones for the family recently.
On Monday it was daughter Sunday Rose’s 11th birthday, and Nicole shared a never-before-seen photo of her family on Instagram to mark the occasion.
Plus, Nicole and Keith recently celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary and both took to Instagram last month to post heartwarming and romantic tributes to each other.
“Thirteen years of magic , music, romance, wild adventures , and the ongoing discovery of pure love. Happy Anniversary Babygirl,” Keith wrote, alongside a beautiful candid photo of the couple.
Nicole returned the favour and shared her own picture, writing: “Love… Happy anniversary, baby.”

Nicole lives in Nashville with her husband Keith and their two daughters.

Keith has not one, but three tattoos dedicated to his wife.
He has Nicole’s name inked on his right bicep, with an intricate design surrounding it.
He also has her initials on his right wrist and Nicole’s Hawaiian name, “Hokulani”, tattooed over his heart.

Nicole, who is currently starring in the second season of Big Little Lies, recently opened up about how much her relationship to Keith means to her and how supportive he is of her career.
“I don’t think I’d be able to do anything I do without Keith and that nourishment and the open arms I come home to,” Nicole told TV WEEK.
“When he first saw season one [of Big Little Lies], he loved it and immediately predicted, ‘You have a hit show!’ I know how busy he is, but he clears his schedule and takes the time to watch it with me, because he knows what it means to me. That’s everything.”
