Miranda Kerr bares all on Bazaar cover

What we captured between outfit changes was a woman who is incredibly comfortable in her own skin (and why wouldn't you be?).

Model Miranda Kerr has stripped down for Harper’s Bazaar, posing (almost) nude in just a pair of Louboutin stilettos for the fashion magazine’s January/February 2016 issue.

The cover shot was more spontaneous than planned, with Editor-in-Chief Kellie Hush writing in the issue: “What we captured between outfit changes was a woman who is incredibly comfortable in her own skin (and why wouldn’t you be?).”

Photographed by Steven Chee, the 32-year-old bared all on a hotel balcony in Los Angeles.

The mother of one also opened up about her plans for the festive season, revealing she’ll be flying back to Australia for Christmas.

“For me it’s really important to be with my family this time of year, so we’re going to Australia to stay with my grandparents and my extended family,” she told Bazaar.

“We all get together and we all cook together, there’s no pressure on one person to do it all.

“Christmas is just about spending time with each other and appreciating those bonds.

And as for donning her birthday suit for the fashion title?

“The thing about nude photographs is that they can look iconic and tasteful, and they can be timeless because there is no fashion that ties them to a particular era. But the funny thing about this shoot was that I didn’t know we were doing nudes – I thought we were doing a fashion story,” said Kerr.

“Harper’s Bazaar has long celebrated the daring woman – someone with vision, commitment, style – and a total lack of fear. Miranda may be naked but she’s a trailblazer and this cover celebrates this,” Hush told Fairfax.

Harper’s Bazaar’s issue starring Kerr hits stands on Monday.
