Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s divorce is about to turn bizarre, as their upcoming courtroom battle isn’t just about their many millions.
Yep, turns out the bitter exes popped a couple of embryos in the freezer during one loved-up phase of their on-off romance.
Now insiders tell NW exclusively that the decision on what to do about their reported unborn kids is high on the divorce battle plan.
The exes are set to confront each other in court next month.
(Source: Getty)Miley, 27, has made no secret of her reluctance to start a family – an issue that apparently tore apart her seven-month marriage to Liam, 29.
“Until I feel like my kid would live on an Earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that,” the singer said in July.
“We don’t want to reproduce because we know that the Earth can’t handle it.”
It was Miley’s reluctance to start a family that tore their marriage apart.
(Source: Getty)The “we” she’s referring to is her millennial generation, of course, and not Liam, who’s been desperate to have kids ever since he became an uncle for the first time ten years ago.
“Miley’s been clear about not having children from day one, but Liam would never have married her unless she agreed to at least accommodating a change of mind later on,” says our exclusive insider.

“Something like freezing her eggs would have got him over the marital line. He always hoped she would grow out of this phase and want to become a mum. He didn’t mind waiting – he just didn’t want them to have a biological clock ticking over them and neither did she.”
With a court date for the exes looming in January, sources say there’s every likelihood Liam will mount a case to keep any viable embryos.
It’s a similar story to Sofia Vergara, who battled her ex-fiancé Nick Loeb over embryos they’d set aside during happier times.
“This will be a hugely emotional issue for Liam,” adds the friend.
“Aside from his dream of having a child with Miley, there’s still a part of him that thinks she’ll come crawling back to him one day, like she always does.”
