Melissa George surprised fans by seemingly announcing she’s expecting her third child, sharing a series of pictures taken over the holidays of what appears to be a baby bump.

The Aussie actress, 47, already shares sons Raphael, nine, and Solal, eight, with her ex-partner, French tech mogul Jean-David Blanc, 55, who she split from in 2016.

A bitter custody battle ensued, with Melissa declaring she was “trapped” in France by her ex.

“I work in America, my kids are a third Australian, a third American and a third French, so we’re part of all these countries… blocked here with no way out, no family, no ability to work, no visa, no insurance, no help, no support from the father, no nothing. Zero,” she said.

The former couple were eventually granted joint custody of their children, which makes it difficult for Melissa to take her sons out of the country without her ex’s permission.

And given their legal arrangement, Melissa has no choice but to raise her sons in France.

Bump on board!

While she regularly professes her love for her adopted country, during her first trip home to Western Australia in years last August, the star seemed a little homesick.

“Winter in Perth… no place like home,” she wrote on social media.

Melissa also shared a snap of her young sons bonding with her parents in their kitchen.

“Happiness overload,” she wrote on Instagram. “My sons and their Australian grandparents all together at home.”

It seems the actress could certainly have done with being close to her family in recent years.

“There are no words to put into what happened – you cannot believe it. Nobody knows even an eighth of it. It was not good, not good. But I’m better today,” says Melissa, who became an Aussie icon playing Angel Parrish on Home And Away in the early 1990s before moving on to success in Hollywood.

“I was at rock bottom. And the beauty about rock bottom is that you can’t go any further, right?” the star revealed of her messy split.

“First and foremost, I’m a mother,” says Melissa (pictured with her kids and ex Jean-David).

Finding love again

The Golden Globe nominee – who most recently starred in Apple TV+’s The Mosquito Coast – is yet to go public with the name of the father of her unborn child. Now, buzz is growing about who the mystery man may be.

Melissa has hinted she’s open to another relationship.

“It’s almost like when life beats you down, you get more humble, more calm, reflective. There’s peace in it, you know?” she once said. “So I’m looking forward to the next chapter. Maybe love – who knows?”
