Lindsay Lohan has cut off half her finger in a recent boating accident
The actress had apparently been trying to assist others on the boat to bring up the anchor when her finger became caught.
TMZ reports the actress was then dragged into the water.
In the struggle to free herself, the anchor apparently ripped off the top of her finger.

The actress tweeted her followers through the event and subsequent surgeries.
“This is why I shouldn’t try to help get the rope to anchor the boat. I lost half of my finger,” she tweeted.
It was reportedly her ring finger.
The troubled actress then went to great lengths to graphically describe the carnage.
“One-handed selfie,” she posted after her injury.
“To make this very clear. The bottom part of my finger was ripped off. It was not ‘chopped’ or ‘severed’ off.”
The 30-year-old then underwent surgery to attempt to reattach the piece of finger that had been severed.

Lindsay’s bandaged finger… looks painful!
She later posted a photo of her heavily bandaged hand on Snapchat to report to fans and followers about the surgery’s progress.
“I almost lost my finger from the anchor,” Lindsay posted.
“Well, I lost half my finger, thank goodness we found the piece of my finger…I just had surgery to fix it,” she captioned a shot on Snapchat of her bandaged-up digit. “It hurts so bad.”
