It has been widely claimed that Katie Holmes is dating actor Jamie Foxx, with rumours starting as far back as 2013. And for even longer it has been claimed that Katie’s marriage to Tom Cruise involved a ‘contract’ influenced by the Church of Scientology.
Well, it seems the rumour train is still rolling, because unconfirmed ‘sources’ have now claimed that Katie’s relationship with Jamie is being kept under wraps as a result of said contract.
Let us explain.
Gossip website Radar Online says that a clause in Katie’s divorce settlement states that she cannot “embarrass” her ex-husband in any way, which includes getting a new boyfriend.
“Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” a source told Radar.
“She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri.
“Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself.”
Radar speculates that this is the reason Katie and Jamie have tried so hard to keep their relationship under wraps. Time will tell if the theory is correct… guess we’ll be able to judge by next year’s headlines.
