Kate Ritchie is best known for her iconic role on Home and Away and her hit radio show Kate, Tim and Marty.
But some fans may not know the actress is also a successful published author! On Monday, the mother-of-one announced she’s written a brand new children’s book – with a little help from her daughter, Mae.
Kate, 44, said her latest title, Everyday Play, has been “years in the making”.

(Image: Instagram)“I cannot tell you how excited I am to breathe a big, happy sigh of relief and FINALLY show you my brand new children’s book Everyday Play!” Kate penned.
“All the effort was beautifully balanced with hours and hours spent swanning around in my apron, days spent pottering in the garden or exploring the neighbourhood and evenings spent creating craziness (and mess) at the kitchen table.
“My favourite though would have to be the privilege of spending endless moments listening and observing my eight year old daughter under the guise of “work”.”
Kate said her daughter Mae was not only the inspiration for “every single page” but also helped out with ideas for the book.

In the children’s book, which hits shelves on November 1, Kate has created the “ultimate collection of recipes, activities and ideas for families.”
“By celebrating the wonder of nature, the power of creativity and the pure joy of playing together, this book shows how easy it is to make every day feel a little extraordinary,” the blurb reads.
The actress has previously penned two children’s books – I Just Couldn’t Wait to Meet You and It’s Not Scribble To Me.
Kate’s exciting announcement comes a month after she was allegedly caught drink driving in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
The 44-year-old allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.06. She was subsequently fined $600 and lost her license for three months on the spot for the low range drink driving.
Kate then took to Instagram to address the situation, saying she is “truly sorry” for her actions.
“I made a poor decision and there is no doubt I understand the seriousness of my actions. I am truly sorry.”
