Famed Aussie model Jesinta Franklin has shared a heartbreaking post as she and her husband Buddy Franklin are separated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taking to her Instagram stories on Thursday, the former Miss Universe Australia shared a video with her reality laid bare before her – and it’s likely something many couples across the world can relate to.

The 28-year-old model, who gave birth to her and Buddy’s first child in February, wrote: ‘Laying on the floor of my daughters room. The craziest 24 hours…”

She continued: “Not sure when I’ll see my husband next, he’s gone into an AFL quarantine hub for an unspecified amount of time.”

“We already miss you,” she finished.

In a sweet addition, Jesinta also shared another snap with several children’s stories.

Over the picture, she wrote: “We made sure Daddy packed some of our favourite books so we can still have story time every night via FaceTime.”

Jesinta shared some of the books Buddy will read to their daughter, Tallulah Franklin.

Yesterday it was announced Buddy Franklin would join the Sydney Swans in the team’s Queensland hub.

The team are preparing for up to an eight-week stretch away from home as they continue to play out the season amid COVID-19 restrictions.

It’s a long time for the new dad to be away from his newborn.

Back in June, Buddy shared an update about being in lockdown with his new family and its silver lining.

“The isolation period for me… obviously having the newborn was perfect,” the normally very private star said during an interview with his AFL club the Sydney Swans, on their website.

“I got to spend time with my daughter, which I wouldn’t have had, because obviously I leave early in the morning and get back late at night.”

He added: “To have that time and build that connection with my daughter was amazing.”

Buddy loved spending time with his new baby daughter during lockdown.

The 33-year-old footy legend also spoke of wife Jesinta, saying: “I appreciate my mother and all women, but the appreciation of seeing exactly what mothers do do, day in day out… my appreciation for them is just through the roof, and especially my wife.”

Here’s hoping the next phase of the season goes quickly and Buddy is reunited with his wife and daughter soon.
