Since it was announced last month that the second movie of the Man Of Steel franchise will feature Batman, every comic book and movie fan has been wondering who will replace Christian Bale in the iconic role.
Even though the script is yet to be finished, six names are already said to be on the shortlist to star alongside Henry Cavill’s Superman.
Women everywhere will be thrilled to hear that Hollywood hunk Ryan Gosling is one of those names, with the Hollywood Reporter claiming that he’s one of the favourites.
But with studio bosses said to be looking for a “40-something-year-old” for the part, 32-year-old Ryan might find himself overlooked in favour of Josh Brolin, The Hobbit’s Richard Armitage and Max Martini from Pacific Rim, all men in their forties.
Also vying for the role is True Blood star Joe Manganiello, 36, who was originally considered for the lead in Man Of Steel, and Watchmen’s Matthew Goode, 35.
The movie, due in 2015, will see DC Comics' biggest superheroes face off against each other for the first time on the big screen.
