Lisa Curry and Grant Kenny reunite to celebrate their daughter Jaimi’s first birthday since she passed away last year

Former spouses Lisa Curry and Grant Kenny reunited over the weekend for an intimate family event to celebrate their daughter Jaimi’s first birthday after she passed away last year.

To commemorate what would have been Jaimi’s 34th birthday, Lisa invited her closest family over for a small lunch that was adorned with beautiful placements, candles, balloons, and all things sweet.

Lisa shared a series of photos on her socials of her family with a sweet caption about how she can still feel Jaimi’s presence.

The Olympian spoke about a light between her and Grant that felt like a message from Jaimi.

She also explained that the gorgeous and lavish spread of cookies adorned with ‘forever’ and ‘love you,’ cupcakes decorated with flowers and pink candles were an ode to Jaimi’s love of “all things pretty.”

“A beautiful celebration for our birthday girl, Jaimi ❤️🥰👼😞Surreal but beautiful,” Lisa started.

“Once again, she seems to be with us … look at the fragments of light between Grant and I, and he [Grant] has a heart shaped one on his shirt… too obvious and happening too often to dismiss.. our girl is definitely around us.

“Her love of all things pretty: candles, flowers, the most divine cakes and biscuits and of course , her most loved things… family ❤️🌸👼🥰😞.

“We all love you forever Jaimi and you’ll never be forgotten🌸🌸🌸🌸,” penned Lisa.

Jaimi’s brother Jett Kenny, her sister Morgan Gruell, her brother-in-law Ryan Gruell and her nephews Taj and Flynn were also in attendance.

Lisa was supported by her adoring husband and Elvis impersonator, Mark Andrew, who has been by her side throughout this undeniably difficult time.

Mark also posted a picture with Jaimi on his Instagram to mark the occasion.

He captioned the picture, “Happy Heavenly Birthday @jaimileekenny The first Birthday without your human self, which is so hard for your mum, but I know you’re still with us somehow!! 🙏.”

Other close grandparents, family and friends were also there to celebrate Jaimi and her life.

Lisa’s daughter Morgan posted a reel on her Instagram from the celebrations.

The wholesome video included a closer look at details from the day, and she captured sweet moments between everyone in attendance.

In one still, Grant has Taj in his arms, while Lisa and her husband Antony stand together with smiles on their faces, proving that everyone supports each other despite their blended family dynamics.

The day before, Lisa posted a throwback picture of herself with Jaimi on her actual birthday and pared the wholesome snap with an emotive caption.

“Our beautiful Jaimi, born at 9.03am, 34 years ago. Today is a hard day. I can’t even explain how I feel. I have no words,” wrote the former swimmer.

“Happy birthday Jaimi. We all miss you and love you greatly.🥰❤️😍😞🌸👼 #rememberingjaimi.”

Last year in September, the family announced that Jaimi had passed away after fighting a long-term illness.

Later it was revealed that Jaimi had been battling alcohol addiction and an eating disorder.
