Ugly truth behind Michelle Bridges’ brand

A new report has scored Michelle Bridges’ active wear range a C when it came to souring material from ethical sources.

Baptist World Aid Australia released the report and found the worst offenders included Michelle’s range, Lululemon, Nike, Speedo and New Balance who all scored a C and General Pants, Roger David and Factory, who all scored an F.

The Baptist World Aid Australian Fashion report annually surveys over 300 major local and international fashion brands, quizzing them on their ethical policies, knowledge of their suppliers, relationships with their suppliers and the empowerment of their workers.

Ratings are given between an A and F on how ethical they are – A being the best whereas an F means they source from less-than-reputable factories with a high chance of forced labour.

However, some brands did score quite well.

Top of the list were brands including Adidas and Reebok who scored an A and American Apparel and Kathmandu who scored a B-.
